On Friday, interest rates were higher than in months – about 7.14% on average nationwide for a 30-year-fixed loan.
Today, things are looking much better. Rates are at the lowest they’ve been in two weeks, at about 6.85%.
The House passed a bill to suspend the debt ceiling, and the Senate is working quickly to do the same. If the bill passes the Senate and the President signs it, interest rates may be more stable or could decrease. Stable or lower interest rates could stimulate demand for residential real estate.
We believe that if rates get close to 6%, there will be a significant influx of buyers, or if rates remain stable for an extended period, it’s likely that more buyers enter the market and push prices back up.

More than One in Four Americans is ‘House Poor’
The Housing Market Has a ‘Chicken and Egg’ Problem—but Buyers Have Finally Hatched the Perfect Workaround
“We appreciated David’s flexibility and willingness to show us homes when it was convenient for us. With our crazy schedules, we needed to see homes at off times such as late in the evening, but David always made time for us.
When recommending David to our friends, we always tell them how hard of a worker he is. We highly recommend David to our friends and colleagues.”
