Condo boutiques are the latest new construction craze in the Mile High City. According to one piece by the Colorado Real Estate Journal, condo fever is contagious. Although first-time buyers often gravitate to condos and townhouses for affordability factors, baby boomers and repeat buyers also love the trend. The journal points out there are a lot of smaller, “boutique” condominium projects throughout the city that often end up in highly desirable neighborhoods. Instead of waiting for a new project to finish, some home buyers get into a condo that is not their top choice. After getting equity in the home, they then trade up to a new construction condo. According to a piece by Denver.cbslocal.com, a developer recently submitted plans for a 1,000 foot skyscraper that will feature retail space as well as 248 luxury condos. Greenwich Realty Capital is the developer. Plans include spectacular views of Denver as well as numerous amenities. Developers say the skyscraper will be an iconic piece of architecture. (NOTE: This seems to have been scrapped, but could come back someday! We’ll see.)
