Wheat Ridge is west of Denver – just about 5 miles from the State Capitol, in fact – in Jefferson County near Golden, Arvada and Lakewood. Take the Light Rail’s G line through Arvada to downtown Denver’s Union Station. From there, it’s easy to get just about anywhere. It’s also easy to head west on I-70 and up into the Rocky Mountains. The city of Wheat Ridge provides 21 parks, totaling over 170 acres, seven miles of trails and 300 acres of open space. The Wheat Ridge Greenbelt and Clear Creek Trail is a wonderful place to ride a bike and take in the natural environment. The open space around the trail is a good place to see native birds, plants and other wildlife.
