Conifer is in western Jefferson County, just south of Evergreen, 20 minutes from Morrison and 40 to 45 minutes from Denver. Whether the name of the town came from the beautiful trees or the owner of a local tavern is unknown, but this area is beautiful. One of the best parts of living here is being surrounded by Pike National Forest. The forest covers more than 1,700 square miles and is home to a plentitude of birds, elk and other wildlife.  Venture not too far away to Pine, Evergreen or Bailey and you’ll have miles and miles of hiking trails to choose from. In Conifer, you’ll find secluded homes on large parcels of land with spectacular views of forests and mountains. This area feels remote, but there are plenty of places to shop and go out to eat.
