If you want to live where the action is, look no further than these adjacent neighborhoods. City Park is named after the 330-acre park that spans the majority of the community. Located a mile from Downtown Denver, it’s home to the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. But that’s not all. You can see a movie at the IMAX Theater, or, on a warm day, enjoy the tennis courts, baseball, soccer, and football fields in the park.
Country Club and its subdivision, Country Club Place, is one of the smallest and most exclusive neighborhoods in Denver. However, what it lacks in size, it makes up for in historic charm. Developed around the turn of the twentieth century under the direction of the Denver Country Club, the upscale neighborhood is a designated Historic Landmark District. The private Denver Country Club runs along Cherry Creek, on the south side of the community.
Civic Center
The Civic Center Park and its surrounding neighborhood are the cultural centers of the city. The park has a beautiful, 25,000 square foot flower garden circling one of the park’s many fountains. Popular locations in this Denver area include the Denver Art Museum, the Denver Public Library, and the Colorado History Museum. Also, within the neighborhood’s borders is the Colorado State Capital, the Colorado Judicial Building, and the Denver Mint.
Lincoln Park
Not far from Downtown Denver is Lincoln Park, one of the oldest urban areas in Denver, with an accompanying park. Sometimes the neighborhood is called La Alma-Lincoln Park. The diverse area gets an “A” for walkability because it has access to several modes of public transportation. Lincoln Park is popular for the Santa Fe Arts District and Colorado Ballet, and its quick access to the theater and museum district of Denver.
Union Station
This Downtown Denver neighborhood is named after the city’s rail terminal, Union Station. The South Platte River, which has three pedestrian bridges, borders the northwest section of the area. At the far end of the district is the 16th Street Mall. The mall is a top stop for shopping, dining, and entertainment in Denver.
