Olde Town Arvada – Historic Town Keeping Up with the Times

At almost 150 years old, Arvada has certainly had the opportunity to see a lot of growth and change in the northwest Denver area. Just a few minutes north of I-70, near Wadsworth, Olde Town Arvada has a small town feel with big city conveniences. There are a number of big retail options nearby including Costco, Home Depot, and a recently renovated Harkins Theater. The walkable, historic part of the suburb includes a number of breweries, coffee shops, and restaurants along with locally-owned boutiques, a used book store and salons for people and pets. With the G Line finally running from Denver all the way out to Arvada, this area is sure to see more growth in the coming years.

The neighborhoods in Olde Town share a mix of small, brick historical homes with mature landscaping and newer, more modern condos with all the amenities of those found in metropolitan areas. Much of the original charm remains on the tree-lined streets and the area seems to be thriving with young families wanting to set down roots and raise their kids here. With a plethora of parks and schools, it’s no surprise that this suburb appeals to parents.

In the summers especially, Olde Town is alive with festivals and events. The town takes great pride in providing its residents with fun ways to connect and seems to truly support their small business owners. The Harvest Festival, which takes place just after Labor Day, is a staple on the community calendar and there are many other similar events all year long.
