New Construction: The Lure of the Condo Boutique

Riverfront Park Denver Real Estate
Condos for sale in Riverfront Park are in the middle of one of the most vibrant parts of Denver. If you’re looking for a place in the middle of an exciting part of downtown, this could be the place for you.

Condo boutiques are the latest new construction craze in the Mile High City. According to one piece by the Colorado Real Estate Journal, condo fever is contagious. Although first-time buyers often gravitate to condos and townhouses for affordability factors, baby boomers and repeat buyers also love the trend. The journal points out there are a lot of smaller, “boutique” condominium projects throughout the city that often end up in highly desirable neighborhoods. People of all ages love being near light-rail stations. Some of the new and ongoing projects include the Ivy in LoHi.

Buying as a stepping stone

Instead of waiting for a new project to finish, some home buyers get into a condo that is not their top choice. After getting equity in the home, they then trade up to a new construction condo. According to a piece by Denver.cbslocal.com, a developer recently submitted plans for a 1,000 foot skyscraper that will feature retail space as well as 248 luxury condos. Greenwich Realty Capital is the developer. Plans include spectacular views of Denver as well as numerous amenities. Developers say the skyscraper will be an iconic piece of architecture. (NOTE: This seems to have been scrapped, but could come back someday! We’ll see.)

Enjoying urban living at its finest

People who opt to buy condos in Metro Denver are often looking to live in a neighborhood like Cherry Creek, where they’ll be close to many amenities. Most high-end shops, restaurants, and bars are within walking distance. Empty-nesters like the luxury townhomes for sale around Denver and duplexes with no yard maintenance. Whether you choose a high-rise condo or a townhome, there is no shortage of new construction in Cherry Creek and other hot neighborhoods. By working with an experience real estate agent who knows Denver’s heart and soul, it’s simple to start owning instead of renting. The key is to get on the “property ladder,” and start moving up.

Other advantages of new construction include energy-efficient, modern and new appliances as well as heating and cooling systems. If you know that modern and new is on your must-have list, don’t settle for a fixer-upper. Of course, many luxury new construction projects also provide swimming pools, workout rooms and unparalleled amenities, shopping and restaurants. At Metro Denver Luxury homes, we help our clients find luxury townhomes, condos as well as single-family homes in Denver. For more information on the boutique condo trends, please contact us.
