Castle Pines—The Growing City Between Castle Rock and Lone Tree

Just a few decades ago, if you were driving south on I-25 out of Denver, once you passed C-470, Park Meadows, and Lone Tree, there wasn’t much on either side of the Interstate until you hit Castle Rock. But as luxury neighborhoods popped up between the rolling hills and pine forests and the population grew, Castle Pines grew to a city of its own right. Castle Pines only became an incorporated city on February 12, 2008.  It now has about 10,000 residents. According to the city’s website, their vision is to,

“Enhance our community’s unique character by ensuring excellent infrastructure, safe neighborhoods, maximum citizen participation and conscientious development that balances open space, residential and commercial uses.”

Castle Pines feels like a mountain getaway even though it is only 20 miles south of Denver because of these values of balancing open spaces with development. Much of this area of Metro Denver is naturally full of pine trees, providing lots of privacy for residents and a rustic feel to the neighborhoods.

The homes in Castle Pines are very upscale, providing the perfect escape for executives from Denver businesses. And although the city is new, community engagement is valued and there are many amenities available. For example, spend a Saturday on the links at the Ridge at Castle Pines North.

Or for families there are a number of local parks, a library, and open spaces to enjoy like Daniels Park. And students get to attend the nationally recognized Douglas County School District schools.
